In 1998 Boike's Trailside Inn Opened in Fayette. Here are some news clippings from that time. |

The Boike family opened their first restaurant, Boike's Country Inn, in Ossian, IA on February 3rd, 1993. The restaurant had a comfortable family atmosphere, and yet just the right amount of class.
Then in 1998 the Boike family was asked if they were interested in opening another restaurant in Fayette, IA.
On September 1st, 1998 the Boike's opened Boike's Trailside Inn, at 106 7th St, what had been the former location of Ott's Drive-In. This location suited the restaurant well, until the former home of The Sugar Bowl, at 152 S. Main Street became available on June 12th, 2002. Due to space restrictions at their location, the Boike's decided the move was neccessary.

The following photos were all taken in 1961 or close to it. Most of the people who were in the photos were employees or customers. We like to think that this tradition is still thriving at Boike's today. We still have the early morning problem solvers club. Don't tell us you don't know about these troubleshooters. Every restaurant worth its salt has a table of men or women who get up before the sun(or birds), and worry about all the things that are wrong with the world. By the time any establishments are open, they have come up with solutions for most of them! Take a look at the pictures below, you may see someone you know!
